Here is a list of 10 personal beliefs about living with intention that I call my Ten "Seeds of Hope" (in no particular order). Writing them down helps clarify my goal: living a life of peace, love, understanding, nonviolence, openness, and tolerance. This is not a complete list; they evolve.
"Effort and courage are not enough without purpose and direction."- John F. Kennedy
I adore my rescue pets, who were adopted from a shelter nearby. Millions of loving animals are waiting for homes, and I encourage you to adopt one. You save a life while gaining devoted, UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.
Let's explore the world! Learn about diverse cultures, meet new people, and try different food. Be open-minded and receptive to new ideas regarding religion and family, and embrace a BROADER PERSPECTIVE.
Walking in the grass barefoot.connects me with nature. I appreciate nature's rhythms and enjoy outdoor activities, especially growing daylilies. Let this beauty remind me to reduce my environmental impact, continue to be a vegetarian, and make CONSCIOUS CHOICES.
An Italian philosophy is "The sweetness of doing nothing." My favorite example of Il dolce far niente is people watching when we travel. I'm working on mindful eating, digital detox, and SLOW LIVING.
People can be religious, spiritual, or neither. Live your truth. I continue to explore broader belief systems, respecting the EXPRESSION OF BELIEF.
Labels are unnecessary. I value authenticity and people showing me their generosity, kindness, and understanding nature through actions. I like to see people's TRUE SELVES SHINE.
I grew up in the Unitarian Church, learning that everyone is equal. The irony of all the open-minded thinking is that I'm pretty naive about other people's viewpoints. If I live by the truth that "in diversity, there is beauty," maybe someone will be open to something THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND.
People can make a difference in others' lives through volunteering or activism. Ultimately, being a role model and leading by example is powerful. I try to be informed to make the world A BETTER PLACE.
Dance and fine art are creative expressions and even a release for me. I want to help others find their creative passions in life. Whether it's baking or aerial artistry, I'd like to write about CREATIVE EXPRESSION.
We don't need permission to think differently or to take action. The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution says we can talk about what we believe and get together with others. We can change our minds—making a "You" turn is okay. We must EXERCISE OUR RIGHTS.
